Wellness Events I’ve Genuinely Loved Recently
For anyone who believes movement is the ultimate fashion statement, the recent wellness calendar has been a dream. As an instructor who lives at the intersection of strength and style, I’ve seen my share of events—but a select few recently raised the bar. Moving past the usual fluff, these collaborations brought real intention, beauty, and substance to the mat.
Jessica Mccormack x Pilates by Bryony
If the recent wellness calendar had an undisputed 'diamond of the season,' it was undoubtedly the Jessica McCormack x Bryony Deery collaboration. It turns out that high jewelry and high-precision movement share quite a bit of common ground. If you’ve ever fallen down the Jessica McCormack rabbit hole, you know her brand is built on breathing new, wearable energy into classic goldsmithing and diamond settings—it’s luxury designed for daily life, not just special occasions. Pair that cool-girl aesthetic with Bryony Deery—whose hugely popular Pilates by Bryony app has cultivated a global cult following for its lengthening, posture-transforming routines—and the synergy makes total sense. It was a morning powered by clean form, fine carats, and serious strength.
Selfridges Pop Up x FP movement x Yours Space
Having spent my career in luxury retail across Harrods, Harvey Nichols, and now Mytheresa, I tend to view these pop-ups through a dual lens: as a Pilates instructor, but also as someone obsessed with retail strategy. This collaboration between Selfridges, Free People Movement, and Yours Space was a masterclass in getting it right. The Selfridges buying team has such a knack for championing contemporary brands that fly just under the radar, and FP Movement is the ultimate example. It’s one of the most slept-on activewear brands on the market—delivering independent cuts and rich palettes without needing a high-fashion markup. Watching Yours Space grow from an East London hidden gem tucked in the depths of Hackney to opening studios in Ibiza makes this alignment feel all the more special. Bathed in their signature red-lit setting, the energy was unmatched.
Take a look at the recent EE72 feature, "From Maya Jama to Daphne Guinness: why fashion loves pilates."
Talk about iconic. Maya Jama posing with a Pilates ring dressed in Matthieu Blazy’s Coveted Chanel Shoes? Coleen Rooney showing off legs for days? Jan de Villeneuve turning 82 and proving that core strength is timeless? It’s proof that Pilates isn't just a workout routine—it's a lifestyle statement.
What makes this intersection so fascinating isn't about exclusivity; it’s about how movement itself acts as a universal equalizer. Maya Jama’s feature—guided by movement director Marsha Lindsay, founder of Nobu Pilates—captures something essential about the practice. While collaborations with luxury names like Nobu show how elevated the space can feel, the true beauty of Pilates lies in its accessibility. At its core, whether you're on a reformer in a high-end studio or on a mat in your living room, the work is exactly the same: listening to your body, building quiet strength, and feeling grounded.
Countryside Couture & Core Strength: Inside Vogue’s Estelle Manor Escape
To bring this journey full circle, the Vogue Wellness Retreat at Estelle Manor proved how beautifully the movement world is expanding. Having visited Estelle Manor myself late last August through a friend’s membership, I know firsthand how special the grounds are. It’s a true nod to the countryside, with a studio space that easily sits at the top of my bucket list of places I’d love to teach at one day. The retreat itself felt like a genuine celebration of holistic health: Nobu Pilates founder Marsha Lindsay was in attendance, alongside nutritionist Emily English, who delivered a fascinating talk on nourishing the body from the inside out. Looking at it through both a fashion buying lense and an instructor’s heart, it’s inspiring to see Pilates recognized in these spaces.
